Absolute Aviation to take equity stake in Century Avionics
South African general and executive aviation group Absolute Aviation has announced that it has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with another South African enterprise, avionics sales, installation and support services company Century Avionics. Under the MoA, Absolute Aviation will become a shareholder in Century Avionics.
“This partnership aligns perfectly with our strategy to offer a complete aviation solution across the lifecycle of aircraft ownership,” highlighted Absolute Aviation CEO Neil Howard. “We have long admired the professionalism and technical excellence of Century Avionics, and we are excited to welcome them to this closer alliance within the Absolute family.”
The scale of Absolute Aviation’s equity stake in Century Avionics was not released. But it is sufficiently large to make the latter part of the Absolute Aviation group. However, Century Aviation’s current shareholders will remain shareholders and the company’s current leadership will continue in their current roles and responsibilities. Century Aviation will also retain its name and operate as an independent company within the Absolute Aviation group.
“Having achieved excellent growth and success over the years, we were actively looking for a strategic partner to help us realise our broader expansion ambitions,” said Century Avionics in its statement. “We have observed the impressive growth of Absolute Aviation and felt that their vision, reach, and values make them an ideal partner for Century Avionics. This partnership also builds on and deepens the strong relationship we have developed with Absolute over the last 8 years, particularly in Botswana.”
Century Avionics operates across Southern Africa. Absolute Aviation operates across Southern and Central Africa but also had a satellite location in Zurich, Switzerland. It undertakes aircraft sales, supplies aircraft parts, provides flight services and operates a service centre. Absolute Aviation is the authorised sales, parts and services representative in Southern and Central Africa for Beechcraft, Cessna and Pipistrel.
